As Category Manager, you are responsible for the purchasing strategy of all of our branded and private label products. You will supervise 2 teams with a total of 6 people: the brand team and private label team. Furthermore, you will engage with all the key stakeholders inside our organization as well as manage the relationship with all our suppliers. Teamwork is key in this role, so you will engage, motivate, challenge and support the colleagues in your team!
In this role you be at the core of our sales and category strategy, and you will be responsible for the following key area’s:
You will be responsible for defining and monitoring our category strategy. You will determine what our sales mix should be, and coordinate this strategy together with the commercial teams (Stores, Callcenter and E-commerce). You will drive all required analysis to monitor current sales and identify new opportunities.
Stock and pipeline management
You will monitor our stock turn performance and identify stock issues in an early stage to mitigate any issues. In this process, you will have a 3-9 month outlook also managing our pipeline stock of private label products. New product development You will set the development and quality improvement agenda for our new product development team. Identifying new product opportunities. You will manage the new private label team on a daily basis and monitor progress on set timelines.
You will engage with all our key suppliers managing our longterm partnerships with them. Whilst doing so you will optimize our trade terms. For our branded suppliers, you develop a clear retailer proposition, developing long term relationships and defining joint sales promotion to maximize sales.
The job is based in Amsterdam, and there will be travel activity when required
* Master's Degree
* Buying experience in a retail branch
* Successful proven management experience
* Exceptionally good organizational and planning skills
* Strong analytical quantitative skills
* Strong negotiating skills
* Fluent in Dutch and English
